On Monday, April 21, 2025, a delegation from the American University of Kurdistan, Duhok, led by its president, Dr. Randall Rhodes, visited the University of Zakho. They were warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Diyar Abdulkareem Saeed, President of the University of Zakho.

During their meeting, the following key points were discussed:

- Extending congratulations to the new president of the University of Zakho.

- Exploring ways to enhance collaboration between the two universities.

- Highlighting plans for joint conferences and activities, particularly in areas such as education, women’s issues, health, and sports.

- Encouraging participation from staff, students, and alumni of the University of Zakho in professional and academic development programs hosted by CAPA (Center for Academic and Professional Advancement) at the University of Zakho. 

An important part of this visit was the signing of a memorandum of understanding to formalize collaboration between the two universities, aiming to sustain joint scientific activities. Both institutions expressed their joy and optimism about this partnership and look forward to future collaborations, including research and innovative programs to better serve society and community needs.
